ReplyDeleteWhen I picture you in front of me, all I can see is your absolute beautiful smile and your high on life spirit, and that's how I'll always remember you, Nathalie
ReplyDeleteLife is short, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that make you smile"....that could be YOUR message to all of us.....Missing you so much already. I promise you there will have a candle for you on my Bday cake every year. LOVE XXX
ReplyDeleteYuan.... You had such a life! You knew how to get the best of it with what you had. You were frugal and you could live the life you wanted without all the luxury people are having usually in your situation. You got it right!
ReplyDeleteToday is the day we have to say goodbye to you... You make us remember how much risks we are taking doing the things we like while playing in the mountains with the elements. We all agree to take them though as they are part of what we share and love to do. You passed on while doing something you enjoyed and even though it ended up as it did, I'm sure you were having a good moment.
Right now I'm in Hawaii, another place you loved and I understand why.
Your smile will stay with us forever and thank you for sharing your life with us.
Sleep in peace my friend.
Aloha
- Marco (CH)
I knew you would be a special friend the first time I haerd you laugh and speak Cantonese on the back of the Cham bus.I always look forward to seeing you, having yum cha in Sydney to powder in Chamonix. You always make me laugh even in the worst conditions, like the time we just skied the worst re-frozen snow of the Pas de Chevre 2 years ago, down climbing the worst part of the exit your phone rings, when you saw it was Alex you said " I could be in worse trouble than this". I laughed as much as if we had just skied the whole run in powder.
ReplyDeleteI'll treasure all the moments we shared, you inspired everyone around you to be happy and really live. I know you are still laughing and making others laugh where you are now.
I miss you my special friend.

ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how one can impact the lives of friends and strangers with something as easy as a smile!
I didn't know too much about the man behind that big, generous smile...just enough to imagine the kind heart and gentle spirit that lived in it. Your presence will be missed by all.

My cowboy ;-) I haven't seen you since many years but looking at your pictures,it feels as if you didn't change at all and I can still hear your laughter and see you enjoying good food!I know you loved what you did and the risk was part of it. Wherever you are, I hope you will have tons of snow and perfect waves... see you again in heaven :-)

We never tire of looking at each other -
Only the mountain and I.

You were one of the happiest persons I have ever met. Your joy was contagious, just like your endless smile. I hope you are still having fun..
ReplyDeleteDear Yuan Hung,
ReplyDeleteYou taught me how to live our lives 100% in so many ways. Laughing, having fun, eating yummy food and being alone and reading in the toilet.
I wish I could have more windsurfing lessons from you again at Pelican Point and ski together in Chamonix. In return I would cook nice Japanese food for you and you would finish every single piece and crumble and sauce on the plates with smile and saying " It was Zooooo Gooooood,I am full but I can eat more!"
I really miss you but you will be in my heart all the time forever as before.I will never forget your smile and keep smiling wherever you are.

Dear Yuan-
ReplyDeleteI only met you once but it is an encounter that has left an unforgettable imprint. You touched so many people and I will forever remember your smile and your welcoming way. I can still see you on your scooter scooting through the center of Chamonix with a great big smile and so much warmth and openness. I am glad that during my first visit to Chamonix I was able to meet you-I will always think of you when I visit Chamonix-namaste-Y.Oyeniyi

ReplyDeleteYuan Hong, a masterpiece in living, you flew away believing.
Believing in your self, friends and family. What a quality of life but such a tragedy.
Yuan, we are grateful to your personality, that gave us joy, laughter, healthy laziness, good deals and... Ecology"
All the best to family and friends

Knowing him since his birth, he always call me "Pui-Yee Jeh" and I always call him "Hong Jai".
ReplyDeleteIt seems like yesterday to me when I reminisce way back then he couldn't wait showing me how breathtaking Mont Blanc is during my visit to Chamonix in 2000 and how magnificant the ocean is when we were vacationing in Maui in 2002.
When he visited Toronto in the Fall of 2008, we had such a wonderful time spending Jewish New Year together praying, blessing, dining, wining, chatting and he enjoyed very much the traditional Jewish high holiday meal for the 1st time. He was so cute when he expressed to us his desire to wear the kippot for a little longer.
We will never forget his featured laughter, authenticity, enthusiasm, genuineness, kindness, sincerity, endless energy, positive life philosophy and everlasting happiness....he will be missed by us and many others! We believe that his legacy for all of the above will not end and he will be remembered for a very, very long time.
May he now be at a better place....the pureland for eternity....

A Prayer For Yuan...

Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on snow. When you wake in the morning hush I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep...I am not there.
Big Hugs,
Kristen
J'ai appris la nouvelle assez tard... J'étais chez un ami à Oslo, avec lui nous avons rappelé les moments passés en 2008 à la Vallée Blanche quand nous avons aidé Yuan dans un moment de difficulté lors d'une descente.
